The Diathikes.gr platform presented at the Ministry of Justice will be managed by the Athens-Aegean-Aegean and Dodecanese Notary Association, supervised by the Ministry of Justice.

Justice Minister George Floridis said that “the time of publication of the wills now decrease from the 400 days required by the courts today, in 3 to 7 days”, while “this procedure exempts the courts by 60 to 70 thousand cases”. As the Minister of Justice said, there will be legislation in November for the pending or detained wills.

“The law that will begin to apply from November 1st provides that this system will enter into cases of deaths occurring on November 1st. There is a world and there are several thousands who either pending cases in the courts, that is, those that have been determined or do not pending in the courts but the wills have been held to operate the new system.

The platform will not apply to these cases and in November there will be legislation with which we will regulate all pending cases so that the system operates unified. “

Mr Floridis pointed out that the new digital age in the management of the wills would initially release 100 judges and then a significant number of judicial officials.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Justice Ioannis Bougas said that only 330 days from the deposition of a will until the publication and 450 days respectively in Piraeus. While only 600 to 700 applications are submitted daily in Athens daily.

“The operation of the platform is expected to bring multiple benefits for judicial officers, judicial officials, notaries and especially for citizens. With the new arrangement, we unload judicial officers and judicial officials from a large bureaucratic bureaucratic, “Mr Bougas said.

The President of the Athens Court of First Instance Christopher Linos said that the platform “releases 100 judges employing in the will, and the gradual release of 39 judicial officials from the same service, which we will use in other departments that are very needed”.

As mentioned in the presentation, with the commencement of the operation of the Electronic General Registry, which is implemented 71 years after its legislation in 1954:

-The citizen is apparent to the citizen to control nationwide for the existence or non -notice of a notary or consul.

-The new digital portal diathikes.gr provides citizens direct and secure access (GDPR rules) to the register for the searches of a will.

-The certificate of existence or non -will is immediately issued, within the same day, provided that it is filed during the days and hours of operation of the notarial association.

-The time of publication of the will. (The publication of the covenant can be carried out by the notary even on the same day as the application for the publication of the covenant, provided that the Death Registry is submitted).

-The time of the publication of the covenant is issued (issued on the same day of the publication).
