A 57-year-old man who was found guilty of sexual indecency with a minor victim, his daughter’s friend, is being sent to prison, by decision of the Three-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.

The case was tried in the second degree, with the judges upholding the first-trial sentence of 2 years in prison, without suspension or commutation – only this time the sentence is enforceable, with the result that the convicted person will go to prison.

The incident occurred in June 2024, in an area outside Thessaloniki. As reported to the police, the 57-year-old called the minor patient, under 15 years old, on his mobile phone and asked her if she wants to meet a friend of his, a handsome and good boy, who is 19 years older than her.

According to the same complaint, the convicted also asked her if it bothers her that this person smokes, also mentioning that he can meet her through facebook. The minor confided in her father about the phone call she had received and he contacted the police.

It emerged from the hearing that the patient spent the summers hanging out with the 57-year-old’s underage daughter and even went to her house.

The 57-year-old apologized for his act and cited psychological problems as a joke and immaturity on his part.
