In June 2025, just 4 months before he passed away plunging Greece into deep sadness, Dionysis Savvopoulos gave his last concerts, in Athens and Thessaloniki, not in some boutiques or Megaros but at the most rock festival in Greece, Rockwave.

Both in Malakasa and at Rockwave in the North, the 80-year-old “Nionios” stirred up thousands of people of all ages, from small children to… 60-year-olds, who passionately sang his songs, danced and applauded under the stage.

The 80-year-old Dionysis Savvopoulos had gone on stage at the Rockwave Festival accompanied by Claudia, Alcinoos Ioannidis and other singers, but he sat most of the time in an armchair in the center of the stage, giving the command of the celebration from there.

In front of the stage, people were applauding him, asking him for his songs and not letting him go, deifying him.

“I was very pleased with it the day before yesterday at ROCKWAVE of the North in Thessaloniki. The orchestra was flying sparks. The world rose up. On the left was Dion, on the right Vergina, in front the magical mountain. We played in the valley of Pydna. You made me feel again. A thousand thanks! May your summers always be golden. Dionysis Savvopoulos” he wrote himself the next day.
