They were arrested morning hours yesterday, Tuesday 5 April 2022, in Alimos, by police officers DI.AS Group of the Attica Immediate Action Directorate, two (2) persons, members of a criminal group committed theft of car parts.
The case was handled pre-investigatively by Southeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate and to the detriment of those involved A criminal case has been opened for the crimes, the criminal organization and the distinguished thefts in conspiracy and continuance.
As it turned out from the investigation, the above had formed, at least since the beginning of March of this year, a criminal group that was stealing parts from parked vehicles, of a specific brand, in areas of the southern suburbs of Attica (Alimos, Argyroupoli, Glyfada, Ilioupoli).
How they acted
As for the mode of action, the members of the gang usually moved in the evening and early morning hours in search of vehicles in areas of the southern suburbs of Attica. After locating them, with the use of appropriate equipment, they proceeded to break into them and remove organs and accessories from inside.
Twenty-two (22) cases were investigated theft of car parts.
What was found and confiscated during the searches
As part of the searches in the homes of the arrested, a number of parts – spare parts and burglary tools were found and confiscated, while at the same time the vehicle they were using was confiscated.
The arrested were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor, while the investigation, in order to fully ascertain the extent of their criminal activity, continues.
