From his special police team Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Pankratiwas arrested on his own initiative, in the morning hours of 10-15-2025 in the area of Piraeusa 59-year-old citizen, accused of distinguished serial thefts, robbery and violence against employees, while a conviction was pending against him with a prison sentence of 3 years and -3- months for the offense of serial fraud.
More specifically, in the context of investigating incidents of theft of large sums of money using the method of employment from houses in various areas of Attica, by the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Pagrati, a special team of police officers was formed, which after special investigative operations identified the 59-year-old as the perpetrator of the distinguished thefts.
According to her announcement COME ONpolice officers, in the morning hours of 15/10, spotted the 59-year-old moving in the area of Piraeus and called him for a check.
At the sight of the police, the accused tried to escape, but was immobilized, while during a check, he was found to be in possession of the sum of 37,050 which, as it was established, he had earlier removed from an elderly woman’s house which was nearby, and which was attributed to the victim.
In terms of his modus operandi, the accused, moving in a vehicle, initially located houses in which mainly elderly people lived.
Then pretending to be either a tenant of an apartment in the apartment building, or the plumber and under the pretext of a supposed water leak, he managed to gain access to their interior, extracting sums of money and gold from the tenants.
Characteristic of his criminal activity is the fact that in one case the accused did not hesitate to lock the tenant on the balcony of the apartment, in order to complete his criminal act.
From the preliminary investigation so far, 15 cases of theft and robbery were solved in Pagrati, Piraeus, Patisia, Kallithea, Kypseli and Ampelokipi.
The illegal financial gain from his criminal activity amounts to the sum of 282,800 euros.
It is noted that the accused has in the past concerned the Authorities for similar crimes.
The arrested person was taken to the competent Prosecutor.
