The sky was filled with 50 euro notes in Argos Orestiko, when an elderly resident of the area came out of his house and started throwing money at passers-by, causing a disturbance and mobilizing the Police.
According to information from ERTnews, the elderly man was initially seen coming out of his house shouting at passers-by. A few minutes later, however, the situation took an unexpected turn whenhe took a wad of bills from his trouser pocket and started throwing them on the street. Passers-by, deeply concerned about the man’s mental health, immediately informed the authorities. A patrol car of the Argos Orestikos Police Department immediately rushed to the scene.
The police, acting calmly, proceeded to bring the man in handcuffs, while at the same time they began the process of collecting the money he had managed to scatter on the street. The elderly man was taken to the Argos Orestikos Police Station. After assessing his situation and taking into account his behavior, it was deemed necessary to his transfer to a mental health facility.
Finally, he was transferred and is being treated at a psychiatric clinic in Kozani, where the necessary medical and psychological support will be provided.
