The regular staff of ELTA, who work in the stores, will be redeployed to other functions, mainly in distribution, i.e. in home service“, he said today to 100.3o Grigoris Sklikas CEO of ELTA, after the decision to suspend the operation of 204 stores in the country.

Mr. Sklikas added that “no island will be left without an ELTA store”, while he clarified that the distribution of pensions will be done exactly as it has been until now.

He stated that “out of the 1,000 total stores in the country, 204 are closing, as part of the transformation that has been taking place over the last 2 to 2.5 years».

The truth is that the Greek Post Office has been inactive for the last 30 years, while throughout its history it had a deficit operation”added Mr. Sklikas, pointing out that the stores that are closing “they are one-person, with a maximum of two people and a turnover of 5,000 or 10,000 euros, while their operating costs amount to 50,000 euros”.

What comes out of the equation is: operating at a deficit and extremely low activity in terms of retail footfall in some stores“, emphasized the managing director of ELTA, underlining that the possibility remains of the Agency and of the courier partners who can serve.
