They were arrested today, Friday, April 8, 2022, by police officers of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, two foreigners, 26 and 27 years old for the attack on a native person on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
They were charged with attempted murder, insulting symbols of another state, a crime with racist characteristics, damage to foreign property, disobedience and violations of weapons law.
According to the investigation, the above, on Sunday, April 3, 2022, had attacked together with other people – about 50 people according to police sources – in a motorcade pro-Russian collectives in the area of Omonia, resulting in material damage to two vehicles and the injury of two people. The two arrested were identified for the injury of one of them.
What was found in the research
As part of searches carried out at the homes of those involved, they were found and confiscated the clothes they were wearing on the day of the attack as well as two knives and a gas pistol.
Those arrested with the case against them will be taken to the competent Prosecutor’s Office, while Investigations to identify and locate the other perpetrators are ongoing.
