As she mentioned, she is no different from any of the other detainees’ cells, apart from the fact that she is alone. “This cell has an isolation cell configuration. Everything that happens there is for the period of her pre-trial detention, up to the period of 18 months that she will be brought to trial. “It is not possible for him to stay there forever,” he said.
He added that this happened, as “at the moment Roula Pispirigou is the most hated person in Greece and the unwritten law applies in prisons. In the past, detainees had been subjected to violence and had lost their lives. In some other prisons, if transferred, there may be reactions. “This will be seen by the General Secretariat for Anti-Crime Policy and it will take its measures”, he pointed out.
In any case, Mr. Mavroidakos stressed that the investigations by the police continue with undiminished intensity in relation to the other two children. “Significant findings will emerge from the testimonies that will be given both by doctors and nurses related to children and by their family environment,” he concluded.
