Two people, aged 20 and 22, were arrested by the Security Sub-Directorate of Southeast Attica for committing systematic theft of components from “SMART” brand cars in areas of the southern suburbs. As ELAS points out in today’s briefing, their accomplices are wanted.
It is noted that the accused tried to avoid arrest but without success. Specifically, the 20-year-old tried to escape by driving his “business” car in reverse, resulting in a collision with 4 parked cars and a patrol car, while the 22-year-old was running.
They were charged with the -case- offenses of the criminal group, distinguished cases of theft by conspiracy and persistence, robbery by conspiracy, disobedience, embezzlement, violence against employees and violation of the law on addictive substances and weapons.
In particular, and as it emerged from the pre-investigation investigation, the defendants had formed, at least since January, a criminal group, with key members 20-year-old and 22-year-old, with continuous action, changing their composition on a case-by-case basis and systematically stealing SMART components in the areas. Glyfada and Ilioupoli, thus obtaining illegal property benefit.
According to the relevant information, the perpetrators “hit” in the evening and early morning hours where they were going to the southern suburbs looking for the specific cars. Once they located them, they “opened” them with the use of burglary tools. Then, they disassembled and removed from the inside of the vehicles, components – instruments, such as steering wheels, tachometers and watches, as well as in some cases external parts (bumpers and wings).
During searches of the detainees’ homes and their “operational” vehicle, steering wheels and car parts (tachometers, watches and plastic parts), burglary tools (screwdrivers and cutters) as well as packaging containing processed hemp were found and confiscated. form of chocolate, gross weight 4.8 grams and a package containing 4.6 grams. raw hemp.
The “operational” vehicle of the spiral was also confiscated, as well as another car, the legal possession of which is being investigated.

The detainees have been charged in the past, on a case-by-case basis, with disobedience, violence against officials and violations of drug and weapons laws.
