The Larissa Mixed Jury Court of Appeal sentenced him yesterday to 12 years in prison, leading to the imprisonment of a man from Volos who was found guilty (by a majority) of continuous rape and seduction of a child, who was none other than his 8-year-old granddaughter.
The accused, who denied all charges yesterday, when he was 70 years old and for two years (according to the indictment from mid-2014 to September 2016) continued to rape his granddaughter (from 8 up to 10 years old), as he also repeatedly performed sexual acts against the little girl.
The grandfather was supposed to host the granddaughter in the afternoons after school, only when the little one confessed to her parents what she had been experiencing for two years, we were “shocked” as the girl’s father testified yesterday, unable to believe that the girl’s father was his rapist and grandfather.
A trial that revealed a family drama, as his son and the father of the minor girl came to blame his father for what he did to his daughter as well as his mother who “still defames us” as it was said yesterday.
The Mixed Jury Court of Appeal of Larissa finally found the 70-year-old guilty by a majority (s.s. a minority jury) for both charges, while after recognizing his mitigation, he imposed a total sentence of 12 years in prison, with the accused returning to prison. It is reminded that the 70-year-old was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the MOD of Karditsa in December 2017.
