In total 1,200 festive meals -on day- from Holy Saturday until Easter Monday, gifts and candles for children, as well as packages of Easter delicacies for families will be offered by Municipality of Athens to the beneficiaries and the homeless who are under the “umbrella” of the Reception and Solidarity Center of the municipality (K.Y.A.D.A.).
On Holy Saturday, Sunday and Easter Monday they will share love meals to the homeless lying on the street, as well as those who are hosted in city structures (Multipurpose Homeless Center, Home of Athens, Homeless Psychoactive Substances Hostel (MyAthens), Actor’s House, Doctors’ Dormitory of the World).
The portions of food for the night of Holy Saturday, will include cookbook and Easter sweetswhile on Easter Sunday a dish will be offered with traditional lamb.
From morning till night, the streetwork groups will undertake the transportation of meals to places where there are homeless and citizens in need. The concern of the Municipality of Athens is all the people who are under the “umbrella” of social protection, to enjoy the celebration of Easter, without any deprivation.
Already, from the first days of April, families supported by K.Y.DA.A receive packages with fasting food and Easter delicacies. Buns, dyes for red eggs and ingredients for Easter recipes are among the products distributed daily by the Social Grocery.
At the same time, with the eyes turned to the children of beneficiary families, o The Municipality of Athens took care this year as well, so that no child is left without an Easter gift.
The Social Bookstore handed out toys and candles collected from the action “Together we can“, as well as 2,000 books – coloring books, donated by the Ikaros Publishing House.
