With 15 bullets, they executed Giannis Skaftouros, a member of the Greek Mafia, in Skourta, Boeotia, near Dervenochoria, on Easter day, while he was celebrating with his family.
He and about 10 other people were in the yard of his paternal home when the executors hit him with a Kalashnikov, killing him and injured his daughter and father-in-law.

As Mr. Daltas pointed out, the executors were professionals who had death contract for Skaftouros. He also assessed that whether it is an old rivalry or new ones from people who come to the area and question the power of the old ones.
He clarified that Skaftouros was not involved in the protection of shops, “it was not overnight” and that in the case of the kidnapping of the shipowner Panagopoulos there was no direct involvement.
At the same time, Mr. Balaskas stated that the victim had been charged by the police for many things.
“These people do not have a long life expectancy,” he said.
Mr. Balaskas pointed out that this is a very well paid death contract and very well designed. The perpetrators often come from abroad and leave the country before the police even go to the crime scene.
As he said the police have a motorcycle in their hands which was damaged but was handled by the perpetrators, a farm car and they are collecting testimonies.
Meanwhile, a patrol car is outside the house of Skaftouros’s family.
Who was Giannis Skaftouros?
The 55-year-old was a member of the so-called Troika of the crime syndicate, as Mr. Balaskas said.
He was released in 2019, as he had been sentenced to many years in prison for his involvement in night circuits, while he was last employed in early June 2020, when he was arrested again for possession of weapons in a random control of the “Zeus” group in Glyfada.
This was the second murderous attack against him, after another attempt had been made, while he was in Korydallos prison, in June 2018. The perpetrator of Albanian origin was then said to have stabbed him in the leg.
