The continuation of their mobilizations at the Piraeus Container Station, until their demands are met, was decided by the union of the Container Handling Workers at the piers of Piraeus (ENEDEP).
Following the injury of a 38-year-old colleague who fell from a height during work on a cargo ship carrying containers at Pier III, resulting in injury, dockers raise safety and hygiene issues and demand measures.
At the same time, they demand that all employees join the heavy and unhealthy stamps, that a Collective Labor Agreement be signed that includes the increases of night, holidays and weekends, and that all employees become full-time.
“After a decision of the mass general assembly of workers that took place in SEMPO, the strike continues! Everyone on guard. The telephone greeting of our colleague Takis, fills us with strength and courage to continue our fair fight. “A BCC should be signed here and now that will secure all employees”, ENEDEP states in its announcement.
