THE visit of the royal couple of Belgium to Athens starts today at 15:00, with the wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and then at 15:10 with the official Welcome Ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
This is followed at 15:20 by the Award Ceremony of King Philip and Queen Mathilde of Belgium and the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and immediately after 15:40, a private meeting of the King and Queen with the President of the Republic Katerina Sakella Mr. Pavlos Kotsoni.
Subsequently, at 16:05 the King and Queen of Belgium will go to the Maximos Palacewhere they will have a private meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Mrs. Mareva Grabovski-Mitsotakis.
At 16:20, extended talks between the two delegations will follow and at 16:50 Queen Mathilde will go to the “Smile of the Child”.
For his part, King Philip will have a meeting with the Mayor of Athens Costas Bakogiannis at 17.15.
The program of the first day will conclude with the formal dinner at the Presidential Palace at 20:00in honor of the King and Queen of Belgium.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3, at 08:45 in the morning, the King and Queen of Belgium will pay a visit to the “Andama” Reception Center and at 10:30 they are scheduled to visit the archeological site of Sounio.
Immediately after 11:20 the royal couple of Belgium will participate in an academic meeting at the hotel “Grecotel Cape Sounio” and at 14:00 will visit the archeological site of Thorikos.
In the evening of the same day and specifically at 20:00, an event will take place organized by the King and Queen of Belgium in honor of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Mr. Pavlos Kotsonis at the Acropolis Museum.
On Wednesday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m., King Philip and Queen Mathilde of Belgium will be guided to the Revythousa Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal.
