The Athens Multi-Member Court of First Instance accepted the lawsuit filed by the businessman Sambi Mionis against the publishing companies of Giannis Filippakis, in order to ensure their payment amount of compensation 615,474.92 euros which was finally awarded in favor of Mr. Mionis. According to the businessman, the money awarded to him will be used for charitable purposes.
The court with decision 584/2022, ordered “The burglary of fraudulent assignment” of the requirements of the Democratic Press SA in Estia Investment. It is noted that Mr. Filippakis’s companies publish the newspapers Dimokratia and Estia.
At the same time, the Appellate Prosecutor ordered the prosecution against Giannis Filippakis and Nikos Havoutis, Managing Director of the companies of the Filippakis Group.
Following the announcement of the Court’s decision, Mr. Mionis stated:
“This is another decision that justifies both me and him Angelos Metaxas and the Stavros Papastavrou, that we became the targets of a ruthless criminal gang that even today tries with deceitful ways and tricks to discredit Justice and its decisions. My justification is moral. All the money I have confiscated and will confiscate in the future will be given entirely to the Child’s Smile, the Ark of the World and other charities. I firmly believe that in the face of the evil of the fascist mentality, goodness and love for our fellow human beings must always prevail. This case should not be forgotten, simply because it should not be repeated. It is a matter of democracy. “
