The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, announced the thawing of pensions and a double increase from the New Year of 2023, speaking on SKAI and on the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Avtias.
Asked about the amount of growth, he explained that it will be derived from a special mathematical formula that will calculate GDP growth as a function of rising inflation. “These are provisions of the legislation which will be observed,” he stressed.
For the beneficiaries of the increase, he stated that it will concern everyone and all the funds, however, some will not see a big difference in their pension due to the Katrougalos law: “Some will see the profit directly in their pocket, some who have a bigger personal difference based on of the provisions of the Katruggalo law will “gnaw” it so that in the next increase they will be won “.
For the outstanding pensions, he stressed that for 2016-17-18 all the debts have been written off, while for 2019 in March 97.5% of the main pensions had been repaid. At the end of April, as he said, a percentage of 1% will remain to be paid.
As for the outstanding pensions of 2020, they amounted to 11% at the end of March, said a minister and estimated that in July it will be reduced to about 7%. He added that the obligations for 2021 will be closed in the summer.
