The new modern train ETR 470 departed from Thessaloniki today at 07:08 in the morning with a fullness of about 60%, performing the route Thessaloniki-Athens in three hours and 55 minutes. With the ETR trains, TRAINOSE launches a new travel experience aiming at the best service of the passengers, offering additional daily itineraries with more comfort and luxury on the route Athens-Thessaloniki-Athens.

“For us it is a very good day, a new day, in our opinion it is not just a train, it is a new service we want to offer, a new way of moving in Greece. It is not only the time but also the opportunity to travel in a safe and comfortable way. People want to travel and we offer an upgraded level of service with the ETR 470, which we will enrich even more. “With the train the passenger can enjoy a relaxing travel experience. For us it was important to break the 4-hour barrier”, said the General Commercial Director of TRAINOSE Roberto Biasin, emphasizing the new benefit philosophy that makes the travel process easier. Mr Biasin pointed out that the next step was to further reduce the travel time to 3 hours and 20 minutes once some infrastructure on the railway network had been completed.

The ETR 470 will arrive in Athens at 11:03.

The ETR470 trains have nine carriages, one of which is a restaurant and bar, three first class carriages and five economy class cars. Each train can carry up to 475 passengers and includes all the amenities, for a relaxing and fast journey.

Passengers on ETR trains can benefit from services such as:

Restaurant -Bar: The services are provided in the upgraded area of ​​the restaurant & in the rest of the train (in the passenger seats) at regular intervals.

First class passengers are provided with free soft drinks / coffee, water and snacks at the passenger seat. It is possible to store hand luggage at the stations of Athens, Larissa & Thessaloniki. For AmeA / AMK special services are provided by specialized personnel for access to the stations and trains.

There is also constant information of the passenger public on the docks and on the trains, power supply: Plugs inside the trains.

It is possible to transport small animals for free in a cage with maximum dimensions 50x40x70. Large dogs cannot be transported. Guide dogs are excluded.

All protection measures against COVID 19 provided by the company regulations are applied.

In addition, from last Tuesday, May 10, 2022, the operation of the service line exclusively for ETR trains, 213 012 1010 (line with local charge) started, with operating hours from Monday to Sunday 8: 00-20: 00.

The first morning train of the ETR470 train departed from Athens Station at 07:22 with a stopover in Larissa at 09:58 and arrival at Thessaloniki Station at 11:20. The train was visited by the Secretary General of Transport, Giannis Xifaras, before his departure.

B place -> 55 € Athens-Thessaloniki / 41.5 € Athens-Larissa / 22.1 € Thessaloniki-Larissa

For 20 days, ie for trips that will take place until 03/06/2022, a 20% discount applies to the final ticket prices.

The ETR trains have departure and arrival stations at SS Athens and SS Thessaloniki, with an intermediate stop at SS Larissa.
