Circular in Schools: Which absences of students will be deleted

by

A new circular was sent by the Ministry of Education for the absences of students in schoolsspecifying which can be canceled.

It concerns the absences that took place due to force majeure from the schools (eg some officially identified diseases, close contacts of patients with coronavirus, etc.).

The circular states that “absences that have been registered or will be registered and are not due to the fault of the students / three but to objective reasons of force majeure or school sports activities organized under the supervision and approval of the Ministry of Education. e.g. participation in pan-Hellenic sports competitions, will not be counted for the characterization of the students / three from the Teachers’ Association during the school year 2021-22».

Reason for the issuance of the circular the increased number of absences that students have accumulated and is considered prohibitive for the characterization of the study as “sufficient”.

It is noted that a similar circular was issued in January, regarding e-learning, then due to bad weather. It was announced that the absences of students from the distance education of the last days will not be counted, as long as they are due to objective reasons and a specific reasoning is formulated, such as e.g. black out.
