“Restart” for PASOK-KINAL, with a background of the green sun, an autonomous course and a leading role

Climate of renewal, mobilization, coexistence of the “old with the new”, calls, messages, pulse and optimism for the party’s march to the polls, prevailed during the three days PASOK KINAL conference at Tae Kwon Do, against the backdrop of the green sun that has returned to the forefront. Images reminiscent of the once powerful PASOK, when it was in the middle with huge electoral percentages, “came to life” during three-day conference proceedings cultivating the expectation that this is possible again, a potential ‘come back’. The restart of the party with the positive features of its history, can be achieved, was one of the messages of the conference, if they are clearly stated and the dividing lines with both ND and SYRIZA. Dividing lines, which were clearly articulated, in parallel with the criticism leveled at both parties and the repeated references of President Nikos Androulakis to the autonomous strategy and course of his party, putting a brake on the scenarios of post-election cooperation.

PASOK is not a small party. Its course is not limited

An autonomous course, for the president of PASOK KINAL has no limits, “no ceiling” as characteristically said Nikos Androulakis talking to reporters and answering the question whether it is possible for his party to be second in the next elections. “I do not think this effort has a ceiling. We have to fight without seeing the ceiling of the polls. It is delimited within a framework, which is why I have said many times in my speeches that for me PASOK is not a small party of the center. Who founded this party in Greece, is a large party of the center-left, which managed to become a majority current in society, uniting two tendencies: the progressive center with the progressive left. “Neither the Stalinist left united, nor the center-right united, and this is the conflict, which is why we called it democratic socialism,” he said.

Nikos Androulakis wants to “export” this climate and this perspective of PASOK KINAL to the society, to the neighborhoods, to every corner of Greece and during his speech at the closing of the conference he called on the democratic citizens to take part in the their hands. “If your anxieties, your hopes, your faith become a social struggle from tomorrow morning in every city, in every neighborhood, in every village, be sure that the democratic faction opens a new victorious page in our homeland (…) What happened in the last three days should not be a chamber echo, but a popular movement. To become the voice of logic, progress, agony, humanity, dignity, transparency, meritocracy ” pointed out features.

Separation line with SYRIZA and ND

The President of PASOK-Movement for Change in both his speeches, both at the beginning of the conference and at the end at the closing, drew dividing line with both SYRIZA and ND and put on the opposite bank “those who call us to progressive fronts and tell the people that they have won the government but not the power, showing that they see the separation of powers and the rule of law. We are on the opposite bank from those who call us to the fronts of reason while supporting their hegemony in the complete overthrow of the state apparatus and turning the opportunities of European resources into opportunities for the few. Populism and elitism are two sides of the same coin. Both despise the real needs of the Greek people. One is the front against conservation, established logics and established interests. “Progress and the right reason are here,” he clarified.

The restart of the party though, evangelized all the top executives of Charilaou Trikoupi, demands the necessary openings and in this context, Nikos Androulakis addressed a call “to those who remained in difficulty, who held the flag of the party high, but also to those who were disappointed by wrong political choices or attitudes” to join forces with the movement.

An opening that does not fit though those who “converted”, those who left the party for seats of power, for the janissaries – as he characterized them – photographing the former executives of Charilaou Trikoupi who in recent years abandoned her and moved to SYRIZA. “Those who chose to leave the party out of their power obsession, beating it mercilessly as modern janissaries, have not and will not have any place among us. The metal of the faction founded by Eleftherios Venizelos and re-founded by Andreas Papandreou is strong and the Right and the Left can not melt it. We are moving forward together, winners in the next national elections “, Nikos Androulakis underlined.

The proposals of the new era

Referring to the political proposals of the Movement, Nikos Androulakis pointed out that “we are not satisfied with equal opportunities. It is not enough for people to enter the same starting line. “The gap between the leading and the slow should not be constantly widening.”

He set the new generation on central program priorities of PASOK-Movement for Change noting that “our schools, our universities have to fight to have a standard character. To become the growth lever with many and good jobs. It is a national goal for young people to stay in our homeland. “

Regarding the issue of climate change, Mr. Androulakis stressed that the emergence of relevant policies by PASOK-Movement for Change was not opportunistic “to build our profile. Not as a business of the domestic oligarchy but as a crusade for humanity and the environment. After all, we have been saying this for years now, when some people thought they were “green horses” but now the whole planet is talking about them. “Because we believe that the diffusion of energy production from RES is not only a political choice, it is a need for democracy and justice.”

Apart from the “new generation”, the new members of PASOK KINAL who gave the pulse, the color and the signal of the restart of the party, all the former presidents of PASOK Mr. Simitis, Papandreou and Venizelos, but also many historical, founding and top executives of the movement, such as Apostolos Kaklamanis, Costas Laliotis, Costas Geitonas, Paraskevas Avgerinos, Miltiadis Papaioannou and others.
