Theodorikakos: We will not allow anyone to enter Greece illegally

Strict message in every direction, that Greece will not allow anyone to enter the territory illegallysent the Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakosspeaking to ANT1.

The minister also referred to the phenomena juvenile delinquencyin which there is an increase, but also in episodes during the cup final in OAKA, stressing that “the arrests are not over”.

As it became known from the Ministry of Civil Protection, regarding attempts by the Turks to once again instrumentalize illegal immigrants at our land and sea borders, Mr. Theodorikakos noted:

«As far as Evros is concerned, there is pressure all these months. Let everyone inside and outside the borders know that the Greek Police and the Armed Forces are there protecting the integrity of the country. We will not allow anyone to enter Greece illegally. Neither in Evros nor in our islands and let everyone realize this… The country, the prime minister and the government as a whole, with respect to international law, are defending our national interests in a very stable way».

For the phenomena juvenile delinquency, the Minister of Civil Protection acknowledged that there is an upsurge, noting that we must join forces to prevent the phenomenon.

«The Ministry and the Hellenic Police make a systematic effort to get in touch with young people in order to inform them about the proper use of the internet, which is a large part of their lives. The internet is a useful tool that can, however, turn into a weapon against us“, He stressed.

Then, Mr. Theodorikakos underlined the initiatives taken by the ministry with the 220 special information events in schools and with the participation of 80,000 students, the two teleconferences of the Cybercrime Prosecution Service and the helpline 11188. He also spoke about the role of parents in dealing with this phenomenon.

Concluding his television appearance, the Minister of Citizen Protection commented on the events that took place in the final of the Greek Cup in OAKA: “Two months ago, in Heraklion, Crete, the basketball final took place and the atmosphere was different from what we experienced the day before yesterday. The EPO requested that there be spectators in this match. As you know, 17 arrests have been made and I want to send a message that the case of the arrests is not over. The Greek Police has the obligation to complete the cycle of investigations against those who committed illegal acts in the final and to send them to Justice».
