Tsipras: “Unprecedented image” and “triple crisis” in the small and medium business sector

by

The “unprecedented reality” experienced by Greek small and medium-sized businesses was mentioned by its president SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsiprasin the conversation he had with the journalist Maria Nikoltsiou in the context of the Future of Retail 2022 Conference of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE).

As he said, during the tours in the previous period all over Greece he met mainly with people of the “market” and small and medium business, who carried a “unprecedented image” and spoke of a “triple crisis” which is called to deal with and which includes “turnover reduction”, “accumulated debts” and the “energy crisis”. These, he continued, have created an “unbearable situation” for the industry, which goes beyond the corresponding one in the years of the memoranda and needs a specific “plan” to deal with it.

Regarding the plan of the official opposition, he pointed out that its main pillars include the “redesign” of the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, as well as the settlement of the debts of the companies by writing off part of them.

The president of SYRIZA harshly criticized the government for the lack of political support for small and medium-sized enterprises and accused the prime minister of changing his “approach” to them after the elections, as they became “zombies” from the “backbone” of the economy.
