Cyprus: Anastasiadis to brief “27” on Turkey’s provocation in Famagusta

Mr. Joseph points out that President Anastasiadis will reiterate that Famagusta belonged and will belong to its rightful owners and inhabitants, emphasizing that the unacceptable actions and demands of Turkey will not be accepted.

Mr. Anastasiadis will inform about the initiatives taken by the Greek Cypriot side in order to overcome the impasse. In this direction was his proposal for the implementation of Confidence Building Measures which are expected to assist in the effort to resume negotiations.

President Anastasiadis from Brussels to visit Rotterdam in the Netherlands to take part in the work of the Congress of the European People’s Party, which will take place on May 31 and June 1. He will have meetings and will inform his interlocutors about the positions of the Republic of Cyprus both on the Cyprus issue and the issues that concern the European Union. In particular, during the plenary session on June 1, he will have the opportunity to brief on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue, including his initiatives for overcoming the stalemate, his assessments of the developments in Ukraine and other issues on the European agenda, highlighting the energy agenda. and the food crisis.
