And think, as Britain is no longer a member of the European Union, if you are looking to invest in the European Union – especially if you are interested in this part of our world, Southeast Europe, but also the Middle East and Africa – then Greece could “It is a very attractive destination for British investments within the European Union,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The prime minister appeared optimistic about the course of tourism next year. “The first indications of the number of visitors in 2022 are extremely promising,” he said.

Referring to the economic policy pursued, he underlined: “The previous government systematically tried to over-tax the middle class and companies, in order to create surpluses that were then usually distributed, according to political criteria. We said that this is the wrong policy. “We need to ‘grow the pie’ and focus on reducing income inequality.”

At the same time, he stated that “Greece was the country that recorded the largest decrease in unemployment rates, during COVID compared to all other European countries.”

Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined the advantages of someone settling in and working from Greece. “I’m sure we can be very competitive in terms of the good quality of life we ​​can offer to anyone who chooses to work this way, either from Athens – which is booming as a city – or from our islands. “We have introduced a visa for digital nomads that facilitates obtaining a work permit in Greece. “We are constantly hearing about people who spend more time in Greece, working from our country,” he stressed.

Speaking about the developments around the pandemic, the Prime Minister noted that “we are facing a fourth wave, like most European countries” noting that Greece has implemented a fully digitized vaccination system that works perfectly “and of course we continue to give the battle to persuade more people to get vaccinated. “

Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted that there is a significant increase in vaccinations in recent weeks and that significant restrictions have been imposed on unvaccinated Greeks. At the same time, he stressed that “we observe a significant increase in the planning of the third dose for vaccines. After all, experts point out that this is crucial for dealing with the fourth wave. “Obviously, our health system is under pressure, but we have made it clear that there will be no more lockdowns.”
