The political posts for the critical comments of Twitter users regarding the appearance of the SYRIZA MP, Efi Ahtsioglou.

Several politicians have expressed their support for the critical comments of Twitter users regarding the appearance of SYRIZA MP Efi Ahtsioglou.

Among those who defended Efi Ahtsioglou was publicly found the Deputy Minister of Welfare and Social Solidarity, Domna Michailidouwhich proceeded to a post on Instagram, which is accompanied by a photo of her with the MP and head of Finance of SYRIZA.

In her post she wrote: “Do I have thicker arms than Efi Ahtsioglou? I have. Does it affect anyone? NONE. The hands, the feet, the body of us all are out of the question. Sexist bullying is a remnant of times we should have left behind. Very back”.

A similar post was made earlier by Minister of Development Adonis Georgiadis as well as the Mayor of Athens, Costas Bakogiannis, who sided with the SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance.

“He has the right to wear what he thinks,” wrote Adonis Georgiadis.

“Ms. Ahtsioglou, like any other lady in politics, is commented on for what she says and stands for, but not for her appearance. She has the right to wear whatever she thinks. Here we are in the West and we have solved these a long time ago, fortunately!” commented the Minister of Development.

“Efi Ahtsioglou has been suffering from brutal internet violence for the last twenty-four hours. People are judged only for what they say and do and in no case for how they appear. Enough with sexism, half-heartedness and vulgarity.” wrote Costas Bakogiannis on Twitter.

She gave her own answer.

In two tweets, Efi Ahtsioglou mentions:

“I thank those who were interested in my appearance. “They have probably never seen a working young mother up close.”

“Let them know that there is a small chance that she will not sleep, that she will be tired and that she will have scars because that is how children express their love in this way. Even if it spoils their standards. Does not matter”.

The comments were made on the occasion of a video, in which Ms. Ahtsioglou criticized the government for fuel allowances. However, several users maliciously commented that she appeared in the video distressed, with many describing the specific comments as sexist.

Efi Ahtsioglou and Dimitris Tzanakopoulos became parents for the first time last July when their son was born
