Really troubled by the decision of the US Supreme Court. It is a major step back in the fight for women’s rights.

On Friday, the highly conservative Supreme Court buried the right to abortion in the US, overturning the iconic 1973 Row v. Wade ruling on voluntary termination of pregnancy and returning to each state the ability to allow or not abortions. At least seven states enacted the ban yesterday.
Leaders of US allies such as Canada, Britain and France have expressed regret over a setback in this decision that puts the US against the currents of the vast majority of countries, especially developed countries.
The decision has sparked a storm of reactions from New York to California, with officials, doctors and citizens pledging to fight for their Democrat-controlled states to constitute “shelters” which will guarantee hundreds of thousands of women every year the right to a safe and legal abortion.
