The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message of strengthening the vaccinations from Ioannina, calling on those who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus to take the step.
At the height of the emergence of the new “Omicron” mutation, the Prime Minister stressed that the vaccine is our only defense against a pandemic, which reserves new surprises every day. He also stressed the importance of the third installment, which, as he said, especially the older ones should not delay to do it as soon as the system allows them.
He dismissed the division between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated, saying that these were stereotypes that reproduced but did not apply.
Mr. Mitsotakis stressed that in the last month 500,000 first dose appointments were made, which proves that there is no divided society, but a large majority who have chosen vaccination, while there are several of our fellow citizens who are unvaccinated. He expressed the belief that with some exceptions that will not be convinced by anything, the rest who are still afraid, can be convinced to be vaccinated and attention is focused on them.
The Prime Minister stressed that there is no stronger message than the stories of our fellow citizens, who are recovering after an unbearable adventure in the intensive care unit and come and tell us now “I wish I knew what I was going through. “I would have done the vaccine earlier.”
The other side, he added, are those who are not with us to tell their story, those who lost their lives. Mr. Mitsotakis referred to the shocking story of a young girl who left a letter to her children because she could see what might happen. The Prime Minister stressed that these dramatic stories can be avoided by increasing vaccination rates.
