“You claimed that pensions will be unfrozen from 2023. However, only one million pensioners will see increases” said the president of SYRIZA and commented that the increases are being “eaten up” by the cost of energy and increases in basic consumption items

“Aren’t you ashamed to come again to deceive the Greek people?” said the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, addressing the prime minister, in his deputation in Parliament, saying that few pensioners will see increases.

“You claimed that pensions will be unfrozen from 2023. However, only one million pensioners will see increases,” he said and commented that the increases are being “eaten up” by the cost of energy and increases in basic consumption items.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s statement that elections will be held at the end of the four years, Mr. Tsipras said: “You told us laughing that elections will be held at the end of the four years. Who believes you? Why are you announcing candidates every other day? Gather your MPs.”

Regarding the changes brought about by the government in labor affairs, the president of SYRIZA said: “You dressed as KKE today. You told us that you gave a very large increase in the minimum wage today and that the law is the worker’s right. The purchasing power of the average part-time wage has fallen by 28%.

By taking over, you have done away with just cause dismissal. You abolished the eight-hour day, the sectoral labor contracts. When all of Europe is establishing a presumption of employment for platform workers, you legislated the exact opposite. 5% on your days work reduced. When during our days it decreased by 10% you told us that we are destroying the country.

Do you know how many people are unemployed in the country? 919,236 are the unemployed in the country. Are we here to celebrate? We promise that everything you have uprooted since the beginning of the term, will be replaced.”
