The former PASOK MP for Etoloakarnania and former minister breathed his last at the age of 86. Thanasis Dimitrakopoulos.
Thanasis Dimitrakopoulos was born on May 14, 1936 in Platanos, Nafpaktia, and studied law in Athens. He was a Member of Parliament from 1981 until 1996 and was Deputy Minister of the Presidency from September 1987 until June 1988.
The president of the Hellenic Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, expressed his sadness at the loss of the experienced politician:
“We say goodbye to former PASOK MP and minister Thanasis Dimitrakopoulos. Born in Platanos, Nafpaktia, he was one of the longest-serving MPs of Aitoloakarnania, from 1981 to 1996, while he was also deputy minister of the Presidency of the Government from September 1987 to June 1988. Consistency and interest in the common good characterized him throughout its course. I send my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
