Staikouras in SKAI: Citizens will have additional fiscal space from September

The Minister of Finance did not make any assessment of the level of inflation that is expected to be announced, however he estimated that it will be high, as it is the major problem of the global, European and obviously also the Greek economy.

“Additional fiscal space appears to be created over the summer. This additional fiscal space will be fully utilized for the benefit of society from September onwards”emphasized finance minister Christos Staikouras finance minister on SKAI TV and the program “Morning Information”.

He recalled that the extra fiscal space in March was attributed to the coverage of 60% of the increases in electricity and in June to the granting of Fuel Pass 2 which is strengthened compared to the previous one.

Mr. Staikouras also emphasized that in the field of everyday life of citizens, there have been permanent reductions in taxes and contributions which means that “he has more money left over in his wallet to do something else, that is to deal with aspects or part of the accuracy”.

He referred in detail to the non-permanent interventions made in the previous period in the electricity, Fuel Pass and other expenses, noting that the government was completely honest with the citizens, that if there are no horizontal European solutions, no state budget can bear the entire burden.
