The political agenda for the next nine months was outlined by the prime minister during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, announcing at the same time the time of the elections – in nine months – and the changes he intends to make on the way to the polls.

THE Kyriakos Mitsotakis in addition to the message to his Ministers that government work will in no way stop or slow down in the run up to the May-June 2023 elections, he sent one more message. It put an end to the scenarios that have been circulating for the last time possibility of restructuring of the government scheme, as well as the Prime Minister’s exhortation to the Ministers, that they will go together in the next nine months and “in addition to the discussion and approval of the bills concerning the implementation of the government work, the cabinet should also function more politically”, this is interpreted as “closing” the scenarios regarding changes in the composition of the government. At the same time, this aversion of the prime minister is also perceived as an expansion of the “prime ministerial model” of governance, making the Council of Ministers a participant not only in the legislative work and the implementation of the government program, but also in the formation of the central political “line” of the government.

The announcements at TIF

With regard to the immediate planning of the government and its impression during the speech of Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the TIF, although the messages he sent from the Maximos Palace during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, were intended to stop the great expectations regarding the benefits that will announce “this does not mean that the package of new measures will be small” as government sources commented. After all, as the Prime Minister himself and other government officials have stated recently, the resources that will be allocated to deal with the consequences of the energy crisis will be many anyway and will concern the whole of society.

The final form that the measures announced by the Prime Minister from the TIF will take will be determined in part by the meetings he will have next Thursday in Thessaloniki with the production operators, while it is expected to be finalized at the beginning of next week, when the final “touches” are being added to the prime minister’s speech that will be delivered by Mr. Mitsotakis next Saturday, September 10.

In any case, the days are expected to have a strong social character for the essential and effective support of the citizens, especially the most vulnerable, while at the same time and under no circumstances is the fiscal stability of the country expected to be disturbed, as both the prime minister and the heads of the economic Ministries.
