Regarding the subject of the cap on Russian natural gas, Mr. Economou replied that Athens’ position is that the measures should bring benefits and not create problems

The government’s plan for the Greek economy is paying off, emphasized the government spokesman, Yiannis Oikonomou, in a briefing for political editors.

He noted that despite repeated crises, the Greek economy is growing at a rate of 7.7% in the second quarter, according to yesterday’s ELSTAT announcement.

The data confirms that the Greek economy maintains its growth momentum, which he said did not happen by chance, but is due to the professional management of a well-prepared plan.

The Greek economy is enduring and getting stronger, he added and emphasized that we continue in the same direction to support society and businesses.

He added that the government’s main priority is dealing with the effects of the crisis and that the prime minister from TIF will specify the emergency and permanent measures.

For tomorrow meeting of energy ministers he said that Greece will call for immediate and bold measures, stressing that any procrastination is unthinkable. He added that the Mitsotakis proposals from seven months ago are now on the main agenda in the council.

The problem, he reiterated, is pan-European and requires European solutions.

For TIF he said it is an opportunity to take stock and present the plan not only for the next year, but for the future.

Despite the tectonic changes, Greece is holding up better than many other countries in Europe, and this is a product of government planning and management.

The prime minister at the TIF, he said, will present the next steps for the development of the country, so that we suffer the least possible effects compared to the rest of the countries.

“The prime minister will show the safe way through which we will walk through the complications of the crises” he concluded.

  • Destruction of evidence for Androulakis: The case is in the courts and in the commission of inquiry, conclusions will be drawn from there – I don’t know about disasters, those who are owed by law know about them
  • Withdrawal of SYRIZA – PASOK from examination: The prime minister has spoken twice with clarity and detail. Their departure proves their choice to approach the issue in terms of spectacle and creating impressions
  • Universities: The protection of all in universities is a universal demand of society. Progress has been made in recent years.
  • Ceiling in Russian natural gas: As long as the crisis lasts, the whole of society will have support. The plan will adapt to developments – We have been in favor of a cap on all natural gas and in favor of decoupling the price of natural gas from electricity. The measures should aim at how we will get benefits and not create problems.
  • For proposal D. Bakoyannis: There is an institutional framework that governs the whole framework that is in the news. We are looking for ways to cure pathogens.
  • Electoral law change: The prime minister will respond to the TIF, there he will clarify. The electoral law is a tool, not an end in itself. Opinions have been submitted to the public debate, the prime minister will answer the issue, he will close the matter once and for all, no one should rush to discount his opinions in one direction or the other.
  • Turkey’s path is persistent and dead-end. Greek diplomacy deconstructs Turkey’s ahistorical arguments. Greece is strengthened to cope with any challenge, with composure and determination.
