The prime minister began his speech with references to the Asia Minor disaster. We stand with respect to all those who laid the foundations for a strong Greece. A century later, our country moved forward. The place is free, sovereign and independent, breathing the air of a Democracy that provides them with opportunities. The parents of defeat are always division. We are once again at a difficult crossroads. after 12 years of memoranda, Greece has regained its economic independence. In three years we overcame the pandemic, we faced immigration. Never in the post-colonial era has any government been called upon to face so many challenges. The motherland is much stronger than the people trusted us.
There are new clouds: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in the complex situation the motherland must make historic decisions. Smyrna is the example. With works and results we welcome the message of Smyrna and not with bile like the other side of the Aegean.
