Parliament: Amendment on the gross profit margin on firewood, pellets and other solid fuels

The gross profit margin on firewood, pellets and other solid fuels used for heating cannot exceed the applicable equivalent per unit volume of weight before November 1, 2021 provides for an amendment tabled in Parliament.

Also in order to deal with the phenomena of profiteering, the companies that are active in the chain of production, importation, marketing, sale, brokerage, distribution, distribution and storage of solid fuels intended for space heating in the Greek territory, submit within two days of the deadline a declaration with the data of stocks in:

a) firewood of all kinds,
b) pellets
c) briquettes,
d) pre-ignition
e) Dadi

In the same amendment, a maximum profit limit is set, based on the recorded levels of 12/31/2021, and for suppliers or retailers participating in the “Swap Device” program of the Ministry of the Environment.

Violators will be subject to draconian penalties and varying fines from 5,000 euros up to 1 million euros.
