Hatzidakis: Storm of lies by Mr. Tsipras to the pensioners

by

“He observes his personal morals and customs,” said the Minister of Labor, in his response to the promises of the SYRIZA president

The reaction of the Minister of Labor Kostis Hatzidakis his statements caused Alexis Tsipras for benefits to pensioners.

Mr. Hatzidakis spoke of “lies” by the leader of the official opposition party, adding that he “respects his morals and customs”.

His statements in more detail Minister of Labor:

“New storm of lies from Mr. Tsipras to the pensioners’ organizations. He continues to observe his well-known morals and customs in his political discourse! It is not enough that his government, with the Katrougalou law and other interventions, made 17 different cuts to pensions, today he is brazenly pretending to be the honoree.

He spoke again about a 13th pension, when the government with four different positive interventions for pensioners (horizontal increase after 12 years, abolition of the solidarity levy, extraordinary allowance for low-pensioners and new increases under the Brutsis law) is demonstrably supporting them, so that the great majority from 1.1.2023 to have a benefit that will be equivalent to a 13th pension and some even more.

He came up with a figure of 70 billion in his imagination, thinking that this would supposedly be the cost in relation to individual piggy banks for supplementary youth pensions, while the actual cost will be 120 million euros per year and this year it wasn’t even 40 million, in order for young people to get bigger pensions. Obviously, Mr. Tsipras does not want this support for young people.

He again distorted what the Prime Minister had argued about pensioners’ retroactives, even though in response we have already released the video of the Prime Minister’s speech in Parliament which shows that the government on retroactives has done exactly what it pledged to do 2020 and Mr. Tsipras – surprise! – he lies once again.

He lashed out, in the same context, even against the “personal difference” which he himself established with the Katrougalou law. How much political audacity does it take to speak this way?

He also spoke about swelling (!) the problem of pending pensions by using various false facts with unprecedented audacity, while everyone knows that we are on the final stretch to solve the issue of the pending main pensions bequeathed to us by the SYRIZA government, but also that with based on the official figures the overdue debts of the state to the pending pensioners in July 2019 were 487 million and today only 40. SYRIZA’s math is indeed unsurpassed!

Pensioners don’t have short memories anyway. They know very well that the Tsipras government has only made cuts to them, with the exception of the 2019 pre-election allowance, while the Mitsotakis government has only given increases (up to 7% increase for pensioners with an insurance life of more than 30 years with the Vroutsis law, reduction of withholding from 60 to 30% for working pensioners, reduction of income tax from 22% to 9% in the lower bracket, extraordinary benefits for low pensioners and of course the four increases that will be given from 1.1.2023). No matter how many attempts Mr. Tsipras makes to deceive them, the only result for him will be to sink even more into the quagmire of his unreliability.”
