The president of Turkey could not hide once again his annoyance at the upgraded relations between Greece and the USA, targeting the Greek prime minister.

With the clock counting down to the coexistence of the Greek prime minister and the Turkish president in Prague and the Summit of the European Political Community, Recep Tayyip Erdogan insists on inflammatory rhetoric and provokes by attacking Greece, but also its prime minister personally.
Speaking at an award ceremony, Mr president of Turkey he could not hide once again his annoyance at the upgraded relations between Greece and the USA, targeting Kyriakos Mitsotakis. “The prime minister of Greece is asking for help from the US. What is he asking for help with? Against Turkey. Whatever you do, we will always do what is necessary and we are ready to do it,” Erdogan threatened.
At the same time, he repeated the false claims he made from the floor of the UN General Assembly about Greece’s handling of immigration, spewing blatant lies. “We are watching how Greek ships bury innocent people in the Aegean” he said, continuing the tactic of smearing and fake news.
In fact, the Turkish president continued to lie about his own country as well, attempting to turn white into black and reverse the poor picture of the Turkish economywhich is drowning in inflation and the Turkish citizens who pay for the wrong policies of “Sultan” Erdogan are also suffering.
Therefore, referring to the internal situation of his country, the president of Turkey argued that when someone talks about his country, he thinks of “a country that stands out for its economy, for its defense, for its military capabilities, as well as for its attitude towards humanitarian crises ».
Greece is on the “counterattack”.
A few hours before, the Greek Prime Minister in a different climate, walking firmly on the rails of International Law, attempted to put a brake on Turkey’s revisionism, sending a clear message of deterrence to the “unprecedented appetites and threats”, which, as he said, “crash on our own red lines ».
While on the occasion of Turkey’s new falsification based on the outlawed Turkish-Libyan memorandum, Kyriakos Mitsotakis opposed the deterrent power of Greece and its strong alliances, characterizing our armed forces and Greece’s strong allies as “Steel shields”, reminding at the same time that “the geography does not change if someone falsifies its maps.”
However, the tactic of distorting reality followed by Turkey with lies and fiction in an attempt to create a false reality is not acceptable, government sources commented, stressing that this does not only apply to Greece but also to all our interlocutors, as Greek diplomacy highlighted the problem and reinforced this feeling among our allies and partners.
Mitsotakis meeting with US MPs
In this context, the internationalization of Turkish revisionism and incendiary provocations is inseparable, with Kyriakos Mitsotakis raising the issue to the bipartisan delegation of the US House of Representatives, headed by the chairman of the Military Affairs Committee, Adam Smith, with whom he signed in the Maximos Palace.
During the meeting, Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined the role of Greece as a pillar of stability, peace and security in the wider region and informed his interlocutors about the extreme and escalating aggressive rhetoric of the Turkish side, as well as the questioning of Greek sovereignty, the which is unacceptable. He also emphasized that our country is not going to accept a violation of its sovereignty or sovereign rights.
He reiterated that Greece’s positions are based on International Law, the Law of the Sea and the principles of good neighborliness and reaffirmed our country’s firm position in favor of understanding and dialogue based on this framework.
The cards are on the table again
Nikos Dendias also had a meeting with the delegation of American parliamentarians, who took advantage of the opportunity to inform about the developments of Turkish provocation in the field of Libya. The Minister of Foreign Affairs did not fail to show the maps of Turkish provocation that have become a tool of Greek diplomacy, so that partners and allies understand the magnitude of the problem.
It is worth noting that, as government officials emphasize, Athens constantly informs allies and partners about developments in the field of Turkish challenges. While at the same time he emphasizes that it is not the Greek side that refuses the dialogue, but Turkey that chooses to keep the channels of communication sealed. With Athens setting as the only condition for any meeting that the dialogue take place within the framework of international law
