Kyriakos Mitsotakis allegedly surprised Tayyip Erdoğan who is used to monologues and did not expect the counter speech

Greece’s readiness and its strategy to not leave any Turkish challenge unanswered was confirmed in the most official way in Prague, before more than 40 European leaders, by Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Tayyip Erdogan’s new desperate attempt at the leaders’ dinner at the Prague Summit to unnecessarily and unprovokedly attack an EU member, spewing blatant lies and slander against Greece, fell flat, further distancing him from his European course and the West .
During the dinner of the leaders who participated in the Summit of the European Political Community in Prague, the Turkish president took the floor and at the end of his speech he unprovokedly accused Greece of raising the tension and provoking.
Attack that immediately pushed him Greek prime minister to take the floor and to answer directly that he should stop questioning the sovereignty of the islands and that instead of provoking tensions, he should come to understanding and dialogue, without extreme rhetoric, as responsible leaders do.
According to government sources, after all, the Greek side came to Prague determined to continue the tactic, which ignores Turkey’s decline without following it in its delusional outbursts, but at the same time responding to challenges calmly and decisively, with facts and arguments which are always based on the basis of International Law and the Law of the Sea.
We are always alert and ready to respond to any challenge, commented the same source.
According to the first estimates, however, Erdogan’s new unprovoked and unprovoked outburst in the Czech capital is attributed to the fact that he did not find listening ears, neither in the panel he participated in, nor in his bilateral contacts, but on the contrary, the climate he received was one of questioning and urging everyone to abandon the challenges and return to the path of dialogue and International Law.
Tayyip Erdoğan’s anti-Greek paranoia led him to such a point that he ignored the protocols and procedures that are usually observed in such events, as a result of which he cannot contain his anger and his threats neither to Greece nor to the EU , which also came under his criticism.
Following these, according to the same estimates, there was no way for the Greek Prime Minister to leave Erdoğan’s shots unanswered, however, clearly separating his position from the outpouring of screams and fake news and responding in the context of the prestige that governs his speech.
In fact, Kyriakos Mitsotakis allegedly surprised Tayyip Erdoğan, who is used to monologues and did not expect a retort.
After all, the surprise was also reflected in the press conference that followed, with the Turkish president arguing and contradicting himself, on the one hand insisting on the threats to invade Greece and “we will come at night” and on the other hand claiming that he does not question the Greek islands, as well as that while he accused Greece of not engaging in dialogue at the same time he stated that Turkey has nothing to discuss with Greece.
Under the new developments and having experienced the 27 European leaders a tangible sample of Turkish provocation after Tayyip Erdoğan’s scene at the Prague dinner, today Kyriakos Mitsotakis will give answers both to his statement when he arrived at the Summit and also during the meeting type that will follow.
As already announced, the Greek Prime Minister will again inform his counterparts about the whole of Turkish provocation and aggression as well as about all the actions with which Turkey has dynamited the climate in the last period.
The prime minister will inform about the whole range of challenges, from the instrumentalization of immigration, to the questioning of the sovereignty of Greek islands, but also the developments in relation to the Turkish-Libyan memorandum and the attempted agreement between Turkey and Libya on hydrocarbons, underlining the risks arising from these behaviors and how much Ankara dynamits the climate of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, especially in the current geopolitical situation.
