With the student and military parade on the main avenue of Alexandroupolis and in the presence of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakou, the national anniversary of October 28 is celebrated today. After the laying of wreaths at the monument of Domna Visvizi, in his statement, Mr. Theodorikakos underlined the determination and readiness of the Greeks to defend at all costs the patriotic ideas that unite and inspire them throughout time.

Specifically, the Minister of Citizen Protection stated:

“From the unspoiled Alexandroupoli and Evros we honor today all those who 82 years ago fought for the freedom and independence of our country against fascism and Nazism. Patriotic ideas that unite and inspire all Greeks forever and which we are ready to defend at all costs.

Our country today is much stronger, it has built very important strategic and military alliances, it is also stronger economically for the benefit of the whole society.

All of us Greeks together defend our sovereign rights and at the same time we strictly observe international law and extend a hand of friendship to all neighboring peoples.

Greece faces the future with optimism, with confidence and great self-confidence, in a turbulent time. In a rather difficult region, our homeland is once again emerging as a pillar of peace and stability and all Greeks are confident about the future. Happy birthday to all Greek women and to all Greeks”.
