Iliopoulos: The government’s claims are ridiculous, it does not respond to the new data on surveillance

“Their claims would indeed be laughable if their actions were not so dangerous for democracy,” comments the representative of SYRIZA-PS among others

With a mocking statement, the representative of SYRIZA-PS, Nasos Iliopoulos, comments on the statement of the government representative regarding the reports of the Sunday press, regarding the case of the surveillance, saying characteristically: “Their claims would indeed be laughable if their actions were not were so dangerous to democracy.”

In his announcement he states: “For the second Sunday in a row, the response of the government representative to new revealing publications of the Sunday press is so funny that it neither more nor less invites us to express our support for our “bad-looking” prime minister who himself was the target of surveillance ».

He then asserts that “apart from the ridiculous allegations, once again the government is not giving any substantial answer” and explains: “Not a word about whether they will request answers through ADAE from the mobile phone companies, about whether they were monitoring ministers, executives of the armed forces, MEPs and journalists. Not even a word about the publication of the newspaper TO VIMA which reveals that the illegal predator software was operated by detached police officers whose names and addresses we now know.”
