Hatzidakis: 7.75% increase for pensioners – One in two will receive at least one additional pension

He referred to the 7.75% increase in pensions and the issue of the World Ark Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakisspeaking from the floor of the Parliament.

“With the bill we are debating today, we are proposing a series of positive initiatives to support our pensioners and other vulnerable fellow citizens, common sense and justice interventions and new social protection measures. I wonder how you will position yourself because if you vote for these articles, you will be inconsistent with your doomsday, if you vote against them you are turning against a number of social groups”underlined the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, addressing the opposition parties today during the discussion of the bill for the rationalization of the insurance legislation in the Economic and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliament.

Mr. Hatzidakis emphasized that this bill regulates – among other things – how the horizontal increases for pensioners will be paid at the end of January which will be 7.75%, as shown by the budget data. However, as he said, this increase must be seen in conjunction with the extraordinary financial aid of 250 euros that will be given until December 20 to a large category of pensioners, the abolition – after several years – of the extraordinary solidarity levy for pensioners and the fourth retroactive recalculation installment of the Vroutsis law. As he explained, “Based on the data we have, at least 50% of pensioners will combine at least two of the increases I mentioned. Because it was said “but is the horizontal increase enough? Also, one in two pensioners will get at least one additional pension. Some of them will get even more with the combination of measures. According to the same data, 88%-90% of pensioners who have a personal difference will also see, in one way or another, an increase in their income”.

For the “Ark of the World”

Placing himself on the subject of the complaints about the “Ark of the World”, he pointed out that “we will wait for the judgment of the Justice”. He reminded that the government has already proceeded with arrangements such as the establishment of a Criminal Record for workers in the structures and the provision of strict conditions for their operation. He also emphasized that regarding the issue of the Ark, “The government is proceeding with the installation of a new Board of Directors as quickly as possible with people of high prestige who will be distinguished for their social contributions. We will move quickly with the basic concept that the structure does not collapse and there is a lack of trust in this and other structures, as this would have dramatic consequences for the children who live in them. We are interested in the structures remaining standing.”
