“Either he will give convincing answers about the diversion or he will have to resign immediately, because what he has committed constitutes a very serious danger for the Republic itself,” the main opposition party says, among other things, in its announcement

“Mr. Mitsotakis is no longer accused of monitoring his opponents and associates, but of organizing and executing an unprecedented Constitutional and Democratic diversion”, reports SYRIZA PS and underlines that “either he will give convincing answers about the diversion or he will have to resign immediately , because what he committed constitutes a very serious danger for the Republic itself”.

Particularly, in the relevant announcement of the official opposition party states that “while Mr. Mitsotakis continues to hide and replaces his deputies from the Institutions Committee of the Parliament with the aim of keeping his responsibilities in the dark, new shocking revelations are coming to light from the Documento newspaper”. More specifically, it states that “the revelations about the monitoring of the Chief of the Greek Police, the Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who until recently believed that she was uncontrollable but in the end was herself ‘wired’, as well as the financial prosecutor who handled the cases of Georgiadis and Avramopoulos and came to the conclusion that the millions in their accounts were real but unspecified, they concern the very core of the state operation and leave no room for hiding and evasion”.

SYRIZA notes that “no State Authority can no longer not react” and “no excuse can leave the Democracy unprotected”. He underlines that “the immediate investigation of all sides of this dark case, as well as the assignment of responsibilities, is now a democratic and constitutional obligation”.
