Tonight, the bill of the deputy minister in addition to the prime minister, for the press entitled “Strengthening of publicity and transparency in the printed and electronic press – Establishment of electronic registers of printed and electronic press and other arrangements of the competence of the General Secretariat of Communication and Information” was submitted to the Parliament tonight.
As stated in the draft law, “the purpose of this is to strengthen transparency and publicity in the field of print and electronic media through a modern and functional Register, its connection with the development needs of the Mass Media businesses, registration and promotion in these advertising businesses from the public sector and the bodies of the General Government as defined in para. a’ and b’ of par. 1 of article 14 of Law 4270/2014 (A’ 143) and their inclusion in state aid programs ».
The press bill is introduced for debate in the relevant Parliament Committee (Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice) on Thursday (December 8).
