The Turkish Defense Minister insists on seeing positive developments in the sale of F-16 fighters Hulusi Akar, despite the categorical statement of the chairman of the International Relations Committee of the US Senate, Bob Menendez, as well as the criticism from Congress and the State Department that Ankara receives for the threats against Greece.
“As you know, they continue our work to procure 40 F-16s and the modernization of 79 aircraft (including F-16s). We strive to complete these tasks quickly and in a positive manner. We closely monitor all developments and work. From the beginning, we saw the positive approach of our American interlocutors,” asserted the Turkish Defense Minister.
“Now we expect positive and concrete steps from the American side. As I said before, we are waiting for this process to be completed in a positive and fast way” he added, as broadcast by Manolis Kostidis.
