Answer to the comment of the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, that the Eva Kaili was a Trojan horse of the ND gives the government representative, Yiannis Oikonomou, accusing Mr. Androulakis of political audacity.
Mr. Oikonomou notes: “With political audacity that exceeds all limits, Mr. Androulakis is trying to shift a moral, political and legal issue of his faction. It is inconceivable that he claims that the revelations about Mrs. Eva Kaili, a PASOK/KINAL MEP, do not – with any moral, political and legal shadow – weigh on him and his party, but on the ND!
We do not know if Mr. Androulakis had decided since September – as he now states – not to include Ms. Kaili on the European ballot for the 2024 elections, but what is certain is that he did not say so in September, but only today, after the shocking revelations and the investigation into a major corruption scandal affecting the Eurosocialists: the political faction to which he and his party belong.
Mr. Androulakis is indeed in an extremely difficult position. What he says are confessions of sin and he cannot represent either Pontius Pilate or the censor on political ethics. In fact, when these revelations bring to the memory of all of us the worst moments of PASOK, which led to the prison of its leading executives. We have not had a lobotomy in this place. Enough with the hypocrisy.
Ms. Kaili’s case is in the hands of justice and we do not know its final outcome. But what we all know is that for many years she was closely connected politically with Mr. Androulakis.
They have been working together since 2014, when they were both elected MEPs. They were close political friends. They even sided in the internal party field, when Nikos Androulakis claimed the leadership against the late Fofi Gennimata.

The mud tactic and his strategy of becoming a follower of SYRIZA will not solve his serious political problem. Nor the deletion of his older posts on social networks.”
