Eva Kaili and the triangle ND, SYRIZA, PASOK

Intense political opposition due to Qatargate and background of the upcoming elections

Qatar Gate and its alleged involvement Eva Kaili it is a case that there is no doubt that it seriously affects the European institutions. The way in which certain third countries are consulted needs to be reassessed in order to provide safeguards for the future. Brussels spends Christmas differently than they were used to, while many are talking about new facts that will come to light in the next period.

The Greek political scene, in the current pre-election period, could not remain unaffected by the developments. It may be one of the few times that in the budget debate, next Saturday, the economy at the level of leaders will be second or in the same fate as the case of the former PASOK MEP and the surveillance.

The president of PASOK will address the European Parliament today. Between New Democracy, SYRIZA and PASOK the tremors have already begun. Mr. Androulakis described Eva Kaili as “a Trojan horse of the N.D.” and everything shows that the gap between the two parties is growing. The possible involvement of the former PASOK MP in a corruption case with Qatar is added to the issue of wiretapping. Those who argued that by May, when the elections may be held, the spirits could calm down, have reconsidered, as the majority see an attempt by Harilaou Trikoupis to “charge” the ND. Mrs. Kaili. He is a person who politically is placed in a space between the two parties and the conflict from now on is expected to intensify. In the briefing, Yiannis Oikonomou called the PASOK president’s findings comical and tragic, and it is certainly expected that there will be more.

SYRIZA will not be left out of the game either, as everything shows that New Democracy is more “preoccupied” with it. This resulted from the placement of Alexis Tsipras in the OPEN, as he agreed with Nikos Androulakis that Eva Kaili was leaning to the right. In Koumoundourou – and not only – they had classified Ms. Kaili in the right wing of Harilaou Trikoupis. He had supported the current president only in the 2017 battle against the late Fofi Gennimata. Last year he was drafted with Andreas Loverdos. Does this development imply that SYRIZA and PASOK will more easily get closer? There is no such thing on the horizon. The official opposition will continue to exert subtle pressure on Nikos Androulakis as to why he was late in proceeding with its deletion. Or else how he remains a “prisoner” of people who constantly pull him by the “right sleeve”. The image of the old “sinner” PASOK, recalling the case and the conviction of Akis Tsochatzopoulos, is something that Piraeus and Koumoundourou will attempt to exploit, even discreetly. The president of the movement does not want any stain to remain on PASOK. THE Akis Tsochatzopoulos had cost PASOK in the 2012 elections. Of course, no one can prejudge the outcome of the current case, as there is a presumption of innocence and Ms. Kaili has not spoken yet. The leader of Harilaou Trikoupis also does not seem willing to imply that the conflict with the blue faction means a partnership with SYRIZA.

It is certain that Nikos Androulakis had imagined the meeting of the Central Committee of the party that took place on Sunday differently. The one year since assuming the leadership of the movement was marked by the case of Mrs. Kaili. And since the announcement of the PASOK ballots follows, they wish to quickly change the agenda to their own programmatic initiatives.
