“Certain responsibilities will return to the Municipal and Regional Councils”, Minister of the Interior Makis Voridis pointed out from Florina
The compliance of the operation of the Financial Committees of the Local Government with the recent decision of the Council of Ministers was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Makis Voridis, today from Florina.
On the sidelines of his meeting with ND officials in the region of Amyntaio, Florina, he told APE MPE that on January 17, during the debate in the Parliament of the Ministry of the Interior’s bill on multi-level education, “we will bring an amendment where we will comply with the Council’s decision of the State”.
He added that “the compositions of the Economic Committee and the Quality of Life will remain as they are based on the current provision”, but clarified that “there will be our intervention in relation to the distribution of responsibilities”.
Mr. Voridis announced that “certain responsibilities will return to the Municipal and Regional Councils” pointing out that the self-government bodies “will be informed in detail by a relevant circular issued by the ministry”. He noted that before the introduction of the amendment in the Parliament, a meeting has been planned with the institutions of self-government, KEDE and the Union of Regions of Greece, where there will be information and discussion about the government’s initiatives.
