NGOs registered in the official register of the Ministry of Immigration must submit their details and the criminal records of their members within a short period of time
After the case of Baida and little Maria in Evros, the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum is going through a “sieve” of the NGOs active in our country, asking for more details about their operation and their members.
According to SKAI’s report in the main news bulletin, NGOs registered in the official register of the Ministry of Immigration will have to submit their information and the criminal records of their members in a short period of time. In case they do not comply with the government’s instructions, the ministry will give a “red card” to the NGOs and their members, i.e. they will not be allowed to enter hospitality structures and centers.
However, according to the report, NGO leaders are reacting strongly to this government ultimatum because they claim they have translators and volunteers from abroad whose criminal records are difficult to obtain.
