No permission was given for the Golden Dawn event in Rigillis Square, says the Municipality of Athens, responding to PASOK-Movement for Change press representative Dimitris Mantzos.
“On the occasion of relevant publications in the electronic press, as well as an announcement by the press representatives of PASOK and MeRA 25, the Municipality of Athens clarifies: No permit was requested or granted for the occupation of public space and the holding of a Golden Dawn event in Rigillis Square.
“Furthermore, the Municipality of Athens gave its consent to the taking of measures and restrictions by the police, given that for this specific event, there was no license provided for by law,” it is emphasized.
In particular, the competent deputy mayor of the Municipal Police and Common Areas, Mr. Vasilios Koromantzos, responding to the relevant document of the Hellenic Police, dated January 27, noted: “We are aware that no permission has been granted to occupy common space for the event in question and we provide an agreement opinion on the measures you are going to take given that the relevant license does not exist.”
