After the upgrade by Fitch “the visit here is more than timely” said the prime minister

The prime minister is in Japan for an official visit from today until the 31st of the month

As he said today, in his post about the week’s report, this is “an important visit to one of the world’s largest economies and a country with which we hope to develop even closer relations”.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have meetings with the heir to the Japanese throne Prince Akishino, the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida and the Speaker of the Parliament Hiroyiki Hosoda.

He will also meet with Japanese business leaders and give a lecture at the University of Tokyo.

The prime minister stressed in his post that “institutional investors from Japan stopped investing in Greek bonds during the crisis years due to the loss of investment grade.

Therefore, now that we are one step away from its recovery (after the upgrade by Fitch), the visit here is more than timely.”
