It is possible that the opening “fire” of the pre-election period has sounded – even if unofficially – and the machines of the party staffs are working at full capacity for the “race” of the spring, – as the Prime Minister has announced many times – for Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself. , the notes on his agenda are not limited only to the pre-election preparations, but he continues until the “end” the government’s work and its goals, such as the promotion of the country’s international relations and the strengthening of Greek business extroversion.

These are the main goals, among others, of the Greek Prime Minister’s trip to Japan in order to strengthen and improve bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. This is a new opening in the world’s third largest economy, at a time when Japan is seeking rapprochement with NATO and the EU, and it is a first-class opportunity for Greece to be Japan’s “bridge” with both the Mediterranean and the Balkans , with a special emphasis on energy.

The Greek Prime Minister will meet today with the heir to the Japanese throne Prince Akishino, with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and with the Speaker of the Parliament Hiroiki Hosoda, during which bilateral and international issues are expected to be discussed, as well as the strategic form that the relations between the two countries.

On the financial side, the prime minister, who is accompanied by a 20-member business delegation made up of representatives of the SEB and EBEA, will present together with the head of the financial office of Alexis Patelis the investment opportunities that are opening up in Greece and will make two detailed presentations on the Greek economy, while will answer questions from Japanese investors and entrepreneurs.

The first presentation on the prospects of the Greek economy will be made to the Japanese Business Federation (KEIDANREN), whose members had a meeting with the prime minister at Megaros Maximos last October and had expressed interest in the prospects of the Greek economy. The second will take place – in the presence of the business delegation that will accompany the prime minister – with the Association of Export Companies JETRO to identify synergies and scope for cooperation with Greek companies, as well as with Enterprise Greece. According to information, agreements are expected to be signed between Enterprise Greece and the corresponding Japanese JETRO, which are expected to include all modern business intelligence tools that will help the businesses of the two countries in their networking. The aim is to strengthen partnerships, strengthen and increase exports.

Next Tuesday, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will give a lecture at the University of Tokyo. In his speech, he is expected, as government sources pointed out, to describe his vision for a Greece that is at the forefront of European and international developments, a Greece that is a stable and reliable partner in an uncertain environment full of challenges, but also for a a country that has left behind the era of fiscal crisis and populism and is moving towards the future with confidence.​
